The Kallikak Family: A Study in the Heredity of Feeble-Mindedness; by Henry Herbert Goddard, published in 1913. This book originally started out as a study of feeblemindedness. In 1995, a group of researchers, lead by Robert J. Karp, re-examined Goddard's study and came to the conclusion that Goddard had actually been studying a family comprised of several adults with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
